Big Ben– One of the best places in England
Big Ben is a nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the Palace of Westminster in London, England. The bell was cast in 1858, and the first rung on July 11, 1859. It weighs approximately 13.5 long tons (14.3 metric tons), and its diameter is 2.7 meters (8.9 ft).
Big Ben has been heard throughout history, including during World Wars and the Blitz. It is arguably the most famous bell in the world. It has been associated with London since at least the 17th century, its name is derived from both the bell’s size and the clock tower.
